Before first or reuse, rinse the mouthpiece with hot water and shake it dry. For low-pitched breathing, inhale just enough air to lift the ball in chamber 1 and hold it in its initial position. Hold the ball at its peak for approximately 3 seconds, then exhale. For high-pitched breathing, inhale just enough air to lift the balls in chambers 1 and 2 to the peak and hold the ball in chamber 3 in its initial position, then exhale. In both exercises, be careful to remove the mouthpiece from your mouth while exhaling. Perform both types of breathing exercises under the supervision of a physician, nurse, or therapist.
