Kinesio Tex Gold Tape Kinesiology Kinesio tape is a specialized treatment and taping method developed in Japan approximately 25 years ago but has only recently gained recognition in Turkey, as it has in Europe and the United States. Kinesio tape is a treatment option used for common health problems such as low-back pain, neck pain, and back pain, as well as for orthopedic and neurological problems and post-surgery issues. Its application is expanding daily. Kinesio tape has two primary purposes: To provide painless and easier movement, and to support soft tissue healing. The taping material used in kinesio tape applications is known as Kinesio Tex® Tape. This tape is made of a very thin and delicately woven cotton material. Thanks to these properties, Kinesio® Tape remains on the skin even when wet and sweaty, allowing you to shower or wash your hands after application. Depending on the skin type and environmental conditions, it can remain in the application area for 4 to 7 days without removal. Kinesio Tex® Tape can stretch by 30% to 40% of its original length and adapts to the tension and relaxation of the skin with movement. Kinesio Tex® Tape does not contain latex or any other active ingredients that may cause skin allergies. Kinesio Tex® Tape can be applied in layers, depending on the location. The cut, direction, and area of application may vary depending on the application. Skin irritation following Kinesio Tex® Tape applications is rare, but the application area should be carefully monitored for any potential irritation. Kinesio tapes, available in Black, Tan, Pink, and Blue, are commercially available in 5cm x 5m boxes in individual packages. The different colors of the tapes are based on the Far East philosophy of color therapy and personal preferences, but all colors share the same physiological effects.
